Herba Pyrolae is produced mainly in the provinces of Zhejiang, Anhui, Guizhou, and Shanxi. The plant is collected year-round and dried in sunlight for use.

Properties  Taste & Meridians:

Sweet and bitter in flavor, warm in property, acts on the Liver and Kidney channels.

Functions:

Dispels Wind and Dampness, strengthens muscles and bones, stops bleeding.

Indications & Combinations:

1. For arthralgia with weakness of the loins and knees.

2. For metrorrhagia, it is used with Radix Sanguisorbae Officinalis (Di Yu).

3. For chronic cough due to Lung Deficiency.

Dosage and administration:

9–15 g, decocted in water for an oral dose.
