The Red List of Medicinal Plants in Vietnam 2019

The Red list of Medicinal Plants is necessary to regularly update information to conduct a re-assessment on threatened status of species by times. The IUCN Red list categories and criteria at 1964, 1994, 2001 have been applied for the assessment of threatened status of some Medicinal Plant species in Vietnam [1],[2],[3]. So, this report on threatened status of medicinal plants have been re-evaluated according to the IUCN Red list categories and criteria 2010. It includes 160 species and varieties belong to 87 genera 51 families and 5 division of higher vascular plant. Current status of 160 species evaluated into 4 groups, Extinct in the Wild (EW) 1 species, Critically Endangered (CR) 28 species and varieties, Endangered (EN) 87 species and Vulnerable (VU) 44 species.
