Description: Perennial plants, with 4-5 leaves sprouting. The leaves are strip-shaped, 14 - 42 x 2.5 - 4 cm, green on the upper, pale green on the underside, with many purple spots on the base. Inflorescences with stalks 7 - 24 cm long, bearing 1 flower. Bracts are sized from 3.7 to 6.5 x 3 - 3.8 cm, smooth. Flowers 7.5 to 13.5 cm wide, with short white hairs on the outer surface of the sepals; sepals near the white axis, near the middle of the green and in the middle are crimson, inverted ovoid, size 4.5 - 7 x 3 - 4.6 cm; sepals greenish, inverted ovoid, size 3.8 - 7.6 x 1.8 - 2.6 cm; petals are glossy, reddish brown with a middle band of crimson and yellowish-brown base, usually spoon-shaped, size 4.7 - 8.6 x 2.5 - 4.6 cm, with whisker (edge) and colored feathers purple at the root; lips red with dark red veins, size 4 - 6.8 x 3 - 3.8 cm; stamens yellow, inverted heart shape, size 1.6 x 1.4 cm, with hard hairs; pots long 3 - 6 cm, covered with dense hair.
Distribution: Found in Assam India, Myanmar, Thailand, southern China, Laos and Vietnam. This is the species that grow crossing from the north to the south of Vietnam with biggest varieties related color form.
Ecological: Most of them are grow on rock with moss but some areas they just grow on the trees. The grow on the altitude from 600-1.500m
