According to Vietnamese folklore, sugarcane is used to fight inflammation, treat diseases such as fever, painful urination, yellow urine, rheumatism, back pain, neuralgia. The tops and young branches are still fresh grilled, pounded, squeezed to get ear drops to treat ear infections, cool the liver, relieve pain.
