Nga Truc, Black Turmeric, Purple Turmeric, Bong Truc, Purple Wormwood, Green Wormwood, Bong Nga, Nghe Dam (Tay), Mgang Dream Lung (Bana)

Latin name: 

Curcuma zedoaria (Berg.) Roscoe – Amomum zedoaria Berg.

Family: 

Zingiberaceae

Uses: 

Stomach tonic, indigestion, pain relief, menstrual regulation (rhizome).

Distribution:

In Vietnam: Lao Cai, Ha Giang (Quan Ba), Quang Tri. The tree grows naturally.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

April-August
