The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Asia to N. & NE. Australia. It is a annual or subshrub and grows primarly in the subtropical biome(s).

Ngổ ăn, Rau om, Rau ngổ thơm

Latin name: 

Limnophila chinensis subsp. aromatica (Lam.) Yamaz. – Limnophila aromatica (Lam.) Merr.

Family:

 Scrophulariaceae

Uses: 

The whole plant has the effect of clearing heat, detoxifying, emphysema, making medicine for colds, whooping cough, kidney stones, blood in urine, dermatitis, swelling compared to being beaten and falling. Pregnant women do not use.

Distribution: 

In Vietnam: The plant grows naturally in wet, swampy places, quite common in Vietnam; still planted.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

September to November
