The native range of this species is Assam to China (Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi) and W. Malesia. It is a shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses

The wood is medium weight, not good, prone to termites, can be used for veneering and common furniture. The fruit is edible.
