The native range of this species is Indo-China to Peninsula Malaysia. It is a climbing rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Từ mỏng, Nần gừng ba thuỳ, Mài gừng lá xẻ

Latin name: 

Dioscorea membranacea Pierre ex Prain & Burk.

Family:

Uses: 

Snake bites. The rhizome is the raw material to extract diosgenin for use in the pharmaceutical industry.

Distribution: 

Son La (Moc Chau), Gia Lai, Ba Ria, Vung Tau, An Giang. The tree grows naturally, a rare species included in the Vietnam Red Book. Classification framework (EN)
