The native range of this species is S. China to W. Malesia. It is a climber and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Treats rheumatism, anti-inflammation, painful urination (Rhizome).

Distribution: 

Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Dong Nai. The tree grows naturally, scattered along secondary forests, at altitudes of 500-1,000 m.
