The native range of this species is Dry parts of Africa, Arabian Peninsula, Indian Subcontinent to Myanmar. It is a scrambling shrub or tree and grows primarily in the desert or dry shrubland biome. It is used as animal food, a medicine and invertebrate food, has environmental uses and social uses and for fuel and food.
