The native range of this species is Indian Subcontinent to China (S. Yunnan, W. Guangxi) and Peninsula Malaysia. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Vietnamese name: 

Lòng tong mạnh, Lông tòng

Uses: 

Treats coughs and loosens phlegm (bark).

Distribution: 

Ninh Bình (Cúc Phương), Quảng Trị, Kon Tum, Tây Ninh, Đồng Nai, An Giang. The tree grows naturally in evergreen forests at altitudes below 1000 m.

January-February
