The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Old World. It is a climbing perennial or shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome. It is used to treat unspecified medicinal disorders, as animal food, a poison and a medicine, has environmental uses and social uses and for food.

Vietnamese names: 

Đậu mèo, Sắn dây rừng, Mắt mèo, Khau khắc khỏn, Đậu mèo ngứa 

Uses: 

Deworming medicine, snakebite remedy (poisonous seeds).

Distribution: 

Grows naturally in shrublands, forest edges, at altitudes up to 1800 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

December-January; February-March

The seeds are poisonous, use with caution!
