The native range of this variety is Himalaya to S. Central China and Indo-China. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses:
Folk medicine uses parts of the plant to treat tuberculosis and stop bleeding from wounds. In Cambodia, the bark is used to treat tooth decay. The roots are combined with other herbs to treat postpartum ailments. In China (Yunnan), the leaves are used to treat boils and abscesses.Distribution:
Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc (Tam Dao), Cao Bang, Lang Son. The plant grows naturally on shrubby hills.
