The native range of this species is S. Peninsula Malaysia to Sumatera, Borneo. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

The seeds, soaked in water and sweetened, make a refreshing jelly drink that acts as a laxative, promotes urination, and treats intestinal diseases and gonorrhea. It also treats fever, dry cough, stomach pain, toothache, conjunctivitis, bloody stools, and sores.

Distribution: 

Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and Kien Giang provinces. The tree grows naturally in open forests.

Flowering and Fruiting Season: 

March-May; June-August
