The native range of this species is Himalaya to Indo-China. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Distribution: 

Lam Dong (Bao Loc), Tay Ninh (Ba Den Mountain), Ba Ria Vung Tau, An Giang. The tree grows naturally scattered in primary and secondary forests at altitudes below 300 m.
